Applied data science for cybersecurity is the process of applying scientific methods, machine learning techniques, processes, and systems to prevent, detect, and remediate cybersecurity threats. Data-driven, statistical, and analytical methodologies are increasingly used to close security holes. This special issue investigates key cybersecurity issues as they manifest in diverse sectors, and how these issues can be addressed via data science techniques.
